Child accident insurance (NNW): how to report a claim

At the beginning of the school year, many parents face the choice of the best insurance for their child. This is quite a challenge, as the offer from insurers is improving and becoming more competitive each year compared to what is offered in schools. More and more people carefully check the insurer’s liability coverage, as well as the additional benefits they may receive in the event of an accident.

It is important to know what formalities are required in such claims, as this moment is very stressful for both the child and the parents.

Support from a specialist is invaluable in such a situation. We have prepared a short and clear instruction on how to report damage caused by an accident.

The following guide applies to those who have chosen a policy at www.nnwdziecka.pl. Remember that each insurer sets its own insurance terms and claim reporting procedure.

1. Read the General Terms and Conditions of Insurance to make sure the insurer’s liability covers the situation that occurred. You have 36 months from the end of treatment to report the claim.

2. Prepare your child’s current policy and the obtained medical documentation, police notes, as well as invoices issued in the child’s name from a doctor, physiotherapist, or pharmacy.

3. Go to the insurer’s website and submit the claim online. You can also use the helpline or fill out the form and send it by traditional mail or email to the insurer.

- Claims under accident insurance (NNW) are property claims, so choose the "Property Insurance" tab, then "Report a claim online," and "Personal injury claim."

- The type of claim is "NNW claim under property policy." The policy type is "184," and its number is stated on the document.

4. Fill in the remaining fields regarding the accident history.

Remember

Remember that if your child has had an accident, you can apply for insurance compensation under several risks, e.g., permanent disability, medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and in special cases for hospitalization.

5. Enter the insured child’s data.

6. Attach scanned documents related to the accident.
